If it's one thing
that the enemy does, it is to try to discredit the Word of God, the
Bible. The enemy, the Devil, uses the same old argument that the Bible
translation is not in the original language, is full of errors and
contradictions and therefore cannot be relied upon. Make no mistake
that the
Devil is a liar and will do anything to try to discredit the Word of
God to
lead us away from God, that we might perish. The Devil has even used
the really
bad translations that water down the Truth of God's Word to provide
false
substance to his case. However, you should realize this: Because God is
God,
He is able to preserve His Word for His People and is able to provide
it
in a language that His people can understand. Remember the words of
Jesus, when He said: "..I will
build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
Matthew 16:18. "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but
my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:35. "And ye shall know the truth, and the
truth shall make you free." John 8:32. Another argument
that the Devil uses
and crops up all the time, is why are there so many books that make up
the
Bible, surely God would have provided just one book and preserve its
original
language. People that say this don't know the power of God, or the Will
of
God. God's revelation to Man is progressive and releases it as it is
needed,
in accordance with His Will. The children of Israel, in Moses day,
didn't
have the revelation of Jesus Christ because it wasn't the right time in
God's
Will. Remember how in Exodus how Moses received the two tablets of
stone,
written by the very finger of God, containing the Ten Commandments
(Exodus
31:18) and in anger against the people for their wickedness Moses cast
them
down, braking them to pieces (Exodus 32:19)? God restored them again
(Exodus
34:1). God restored His Word for His people in the day of Moses and has
preserved
His Word for His people today.
How do we know the Bible is the Word of God? Quite simply the Bible
tells us so: "All scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" 2 Timothy 3:16. The Holy
Spirit moved on men, in other words, they became God's instrument for
recording and preserving His Word for His People.
Those that have received the Holy Spirit have the witness of the Holy
Spirit, that the Bible is the Word of God, because the Holy spirit
bares
witness to the Truth: "Howbeit
when he, the Spirit
of Truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:.." John 16:13. If we have
received the Holy Spirit we are
not alone, because He dwells in us and opens our eyes and understanding
of
God's Word. Spiritual things have to be spiritually discerned and this
is
the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives (1 Corinthians 2:14).
Most people cannot read Greek, Hebrew, or Latin and so have to rely on
a good english translation, but which one? Over the years I have looked
at may different translations and there is one stands far above the
rest
and that is the Authorized King
James Version (not to be confused with the New King James Version). The
Authorized
King James Version has in my view, a spiritual quality that is missing
in
other translations and is the one I would strongly recommend.
Whichever translation one uses, the important thing is to
read and study the Word of God for yourself, asking the Holy Spirit to
open up the Scriptures to you and reveal to you the beautiful hidden
treasures, the wonderful promises and precious Truths to be found in
the
Bible.
